The 8th Annual South Sound Philanthropy Summit is co-presented by two premier South Sound professional groups: South Sound Planned Giving Council and the Association of Fundraising Professionals – South Sound Chapter.
The Philanthropy Summit traditionally brings together 150-plus professionals representing all aspects of the philanthropic community, including fundraising, financial, legal, accounting, estate planning and nonprofits.
This year, we intend to address Community Transformation. However, we never could have anticipated the transformation that would be taking place throughout our community and world. New questions beg for attention. How do we harness this pivotal time? How do we best support professionals and organizations in what will be a challenging time for most and painful time for many? How do we share tools and resources in new and innovative ways? How do we retain the feeling of connection and community?
The Summit in 2020 will be hosted in a virtual Town Hall setting. The half-day session includes nationally-ranked keynote speakers at the top of their industry, and timely and relevant breakout sessions designed to meet the differing needs of allied professionals and nonprofits. A website will offer additional tools and information. The popular afternoon networking happy hour at which participants and sponsors interact may be offered in-person with regulations permitting or will take place virtually if appropriate.
Each year, philanthropic leaders from around our region come together for the South Sound Philanthropy Summit, hosted by two volunteer-led organizations, AFP South Sound (AFPSS) and South Sound Planned Giving Council (SSPGC), with the goal of bringing together development professionals, allied professionals and philanthropists for a day of education and networking.
We come together to learn, share and grow as a community. Together, we do more, go farther, are more strategic, make a more profound and lasting impact. At the Philanthropy Summit, we “unite to unleash the power of philanthropy.”
