Board of Directors

2021 Officers

Al Hove, J.D., Principal Counsel & CEO, PHOENIX RISEN Consulting — President

"Over the past 30 years I have been fortunate to serve many nonprofits, in either a staff or consulting capacity. When asked to serve as an officer on the AFPSS board, I saw it as a terrific opportunity to ‘give back’ during a time of transition and great challenge for our profession. Our work includes the need to strengthen the skills and build the pipeline of the next generation of development professionals; and, AFPSS is at the forefront of these efforts."

Emily Happy, Principal at The Philanthropy Collective — President Elect, South Sound Philanthropy Summit Co-Chair

Emily has served the Puget Sound nonprofit community for the past 20 years. "AFP South Sound is my go-to for superior development education. Along with the growth and learning comes the camaraderie of many caring professionals-- we are truly a collaborative and supportive community. It is my privilege to serve on the board and lead the South Sound Philanthropy Summit committee efforts."

Jennifer Wolbrecht, CFRE, Holden Village — Immediate Past President

Jennifer has been involved in nonprofit development work in the Tacoma/Pierce County area since 2003, and credits AFP with helping her gain much of her fundraising education and community partnership work. “AFP has been both a staple and a lifeline for me in development work. When I joined AFP as a newly minted development staffer to now with several years under my belt, AFP has and continues to provide quality education, fellowship and a source of expertise in the field that is invaluable. I am happy to give back a fraction of what I’ve received from AFP by serving on the AFP South Sound board.”

Sally Glover
, South Sound Cancer Awareness Research Expansion Foundation — Treasurer

"In my 15 years in Development, I have largely worked as a "one person shop." AFP has provided me with resources, community and friendship! I have found it a wonderful way to engage with other fundraisers in our community...not as competitors, but as colleagues. On both a regional and national level it has provided me with valuable professional development which has made me a better fundraising professional.

I am honored to now serve on the leadership team and work to make AFP even stronger for the South Sound non profit community."

Jennie Griek
, CFRE, Greentrike — Secretary

Jennie has had the honor and privilege to work for Greentrike in a fundraising capacity since 2008, and credits much of her learning to the resources and network of development professionals AFPSS shares. "I joined AFPSS as a new Development Director in 2015 because of the stellar professional development AFPSS provides. I am happy to volunteer and grateful to learn alongside a community of development professionals."
