“As a new executive director, my learning curve was exciting yet steep. My membership with the AFP Saskatoon Chapter has proven to Sherry_Buckle.jpg
be worth its weight in gold. The resources, the contacts and learning opportunities continue to be relevant, on point and abundant. I have
truly appreciated the comradeship extended to me in my new position in Prince Albert and have learned much from the valuable sharing of best practices. As I prepare for writing my CFRE exam, receiving the AFP Saskatoon bursary provided me the valuable opportunity to
acquire the high level and in-depth knowledge directly from other professionals in the industry."

"I am truly grateful to the AFP Saskatoon Chapter for offering me the bursary to attend a conference in international advancement in
    February 2017.

The faculties were all outstanding and I had a lot of takeaways, both personal and professional, from each session, whether from their personal stories or valuable tips on the best practical strategies for international fundraising, alumni engagement and community building.

I have met several experienced and inspiring people and peers and was delighted to share our experience and stories and learn from each other.

After the 3-day conference, I am more encouraged to conduct the strategic and sustainable techniques, which help increase the effectiveness of our international engagement and development programs at the University of Saskatchewan.

Thank you, AFP Saskatoon Chapter, for this incredible bursary, which helped me a lot while pursuing my career in fundraising, especially in international advancement work."

"I would like to thank the AFP Saskatoon Chapter for their support of my professional development and the bursary to attend the AFP Code_Barnett.jpg
International Fundraising Conference in May 2017.

I strongly believe in the benefits of continued learning both for myself as a professional and for the organization that I am fundraising for. Continuing to further my knowledge base keeps my approach relevant, improves my tactics, and allows me to be analytical of how we as an organization are going about fundraising. The AFP Saskatoon Chapter has for years afforded me the opportunity to learn from the best in our fundraising community, and their support in attending the international conference has broadened that opportunity immensely. The conference exposed me to the best and brightest minds in the industry from around the world, challenging my approach to much of what I do, and left me feeling invigorated to take on challenges and make adjustments to our fundraising strategies.

Once again, thank you AFP Saskatoon for the support and this opportunity, it is truly appreciated."

"Inspired, motivated, validated. That's how I felt after attending the AFP International Conference.Tracy_Boyle.jpg

The variety and quality of education sessions offered was impressive. Current issues, such as inclusion, diversity and equity were top of mind and openly addressed and discussed. Coming from a small shop, as many of us do, I wear many hats so it was valuable to attend sessions relating to a variety of topics. Even after years in this sector, I was presented with new innovative ideas with which to approach both daily activities and new initiatives in a more strategic and proactive way.

Finally, peer networking is as valuable as the education sessions. It's wonderful to engage with colleagues from around the world who represent a wide range of charitable sectors. Gaining insights from their challenges and guidance from their successes is a true gift.
Thank you to the AFP Saskatoon Chapter for awarding me a bursary to attend. I encourage eligible members to apply for this bursary opportunity and participate fully in all that these international conferences offer."

"I would like to extend a big thank you to the AFP Saskatoon Chapter for choosing me as a recipient of the bursary to attend the AFP Kendra_Parfitt.jpgInternational Conference in April 2018.

The sessions were both educational and inspirational, each day there was so much knowledge to acquire it was just another reminder that a person can never learn too much. I look forward to applying my new learnings to my everyday work and our Foundation events portfolio.
Connecting with so many other professionals in the industry from around the world, hearing their stories and engaging in conversations and learning something from another's experiences, there's no better place to absorb so much knowledge!"
