NWPA Chapter of AFP Has Been Named a 2024 ten star gold chapter

The Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Ten Star Gold Award. This accolade recognizes chapters that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the advancement of fundraising professionalism and public awareness of philanthropy.

Every year, AFP, the largest association of professional fundraisers in the world, honors chapters for achieving goals that align with key objectives in its long-range strategic plan. Chapters receive the Ten Star GOLD Award for performing specific activities designed to increase professionalism within fundraising and public awareness of the importance of philanthropy. Less than 35 percent of AFP’s 183 professional chapters earn the Ten Star Gold Chapter recognition, making the NWPA chapter one of the association’s leading chapters around the world.

In addition to accomplishing all mandatory objectives in the AFP Strategic Plan, the chapter has successfully fulfilled six additional goals, showcasing its unwavering commitment to excellence in fundraising practices.

Among the notable achievements that contributed to this recognition are:

  • Hosting events focusing on ethics, diversity, and professional development, including programs tailored for Young Professionals.

  • Obtaining CFRE Continuing Education Provider Status for all programs offered, co-sponsoring a CFRE certification review course, and sponsoring a Fundamentals of Fundraising Course.

  • Making a substantial chapter gift and meeting the overall goal for the BE the CAUSE Campaign.

  • Hosting a National Philanthropy Day® Event to celebrate the impact of philanthropy in the community.

  • Effective communication with membership and the regional community to promote engagement and awareness.

  • Advocating for active participation in public policy issues and fostering the growth of chapter membership.

By achieving these objectives, the NWPA chapter ensures the delivery of high-quality services to its members while significantly enhancing public awareness of philanthropy's vital role in the region. The Ten Star Gold Award not only recognizes the NWPA chapter's accomplishments but also serves as a testament to its ongoing commitment to quality and innovation in fundraising.
