After much deliberation with the event committee and the 2020 AFP Greater Arizona Board of Directors, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 National Philanthropy Day Celebration event.
All nominations that were submitted for an award category will be automatically rolled over for consideration in the 2021 awards selection process.
The National Philanthropy Day Celebration event is both an opportunity to celebrate and recognize individuals and organizations that make our communities better, as well as raise critical funds to support the AFP Greater Arizona Chapter through scholarships, education and connection opportunities.
The challenges and uncertainty experienced this year has, sadly, impacted the level of participation that many are able to have with this year’s event. This has impacted our ability to produce a successful event that truly honors and recognizes our awardees and honorees to the degree that they deserve. For those reasons, we believe it is in the best interest of the chapter and the spirit of this event to cancel.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this decision causes for you and your organization. We did not come to this decision lightly and are deeply saddened by the necessity of it. We are dedicated to ensuring that this event remains a premier way of honoring those who do so much to strengthen our community. AFP Greater Arizona will still recognize and celebrate the good that our non-profit community is doing through social media, email and on our website this November. We will share more details on how you can participate in that month-long celebration very soon.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We truly value you, the work that you do to strengthen our community and your involvement with the AFP Greater Arizona chapter.
