General Summary

The Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) at Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA), located in New Orleans, Louisiana, seeks an experienced institutional advancement or grant writing professional to serve as Corporate and Foundation Relations Officer. This is an in-office, non-remote work opportunity.


OIA plays an essential role in creatively building and stewarding corporate and private foundation relationships in support of XULA’s mission, programs, and people (students, faculty, staff, researchers, etc.). Reporting to the Executive Director, CFR, as well as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and working closely with a fulltime CFR Coordinator, the new XULA Corporate and Foundation Relations Officer will collaborate in refining and expanding a robust corporate and foundation engagement, fundraising, and stewardship program. The CFR Officer will identify and approach both private foundations and corporations (Louisiana-based, national, and multi-national) for the purpose of building relationships that will lead to major gifts for the University, in support of institutional priorities and initiatives. Managing a portfolio of approximately 50 prospects, the CFR Officer will be rounding- out a dynamic, seasoned, three-person CFR office—poised for significant growth and heightened success.

With the help of generous donors and nearly 500 regional volunteers, Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana is on target to grant 575 children’s wishes this year.

The Development Director, located in Metairie, Louisiana, is a highly collaborative, proactive, resourceful professional who provides expertise, support and oversight of Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana’s donor acquisition and retention, peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, corporate sponsorships, individual stewardship events, and other projects. This position works closely with the President & CEO, Vice President of Philanthropy, and development team members in both Houston and Metairie to cultivate relationships with donors and the broader the communities we serve. The Development Director will build increased corporate, individual, volunteer and other community involvement to ensure Make-A-Wish’s sustainability and fulfillment of the mission. Working Conditions
This position will be based in the Metairie, Louisiana office. The position requires the individual to work in an office environment in a shared office space. Incumbent must be willing to work some nights/weekends and travel within the territory.
