The Association of Fundraising Professionals Nova Scotia values and promotes inclusion and is committed to fostering a community of non-profit professionals that enables the participation and advancement of all members of our sector and communities. We celebrate diversity within the non-profit sector in Canada and see diversity as a strength in our vision to stimulate a world of generosity and positive social good, and mission to empower individuals and organizations to practice ethical fundraising.

As leaders within our community and profession, AFP Nova Scotia plays an important role in upholding the values of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access that help us to foster a barrier-free, respectful, and welcoming profession.  As such, AFP Nova Scotia is awarding one 1-year membership bursary (valued of $380) to an applicant whose workweek comprises of 50% fundraising, and who works or resides in the Chapter’s geographical areas of Nova Scotia and/or Prince Edward Island. The successful candidate will demonstrate to the committee through their application that they either embody or represent an underrepresented population as defined by the applicant.

Application criteria for the IDEA Membership Bursary:

  1. Applicant must identify that fundraising represents at least 50% of their workweek;
  2. Applicant must work or live in Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island (geographic region of AFP Nova Scotia).
  3. Applicant must identify that they embody or represent an underrepresented population. This includes, but is not limited to, those who identify as African Nova Scotian, Black, Indigenous, Person of Colour, immigrant, 2SLGBTQIA+, and/or person with a disability.
