Mentor Program

The AFP-IC Mentor Program matches new fundraising professionals with master practitioners (10+ years of experience and/or CFRE certification) for a one year peer-to-peer program.  Mentors can provide guidance, encouragement, and support.

Membership in AFP is required for both mentors and mentees. Contact Sean FitzGerald (scfitz5@gmail.com) for more information. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or mentee, please send Sean the completed expectations and application documents to get matched.

Testimonials

"I have enjoyed getting to know Sarah and look forward to a long relationship thanks to this match.  I have grown through this experience and in fact, look forward to bouncing off something during our lunch for Sarah to advise me.  I am a huge fan of the program, always have been!  We all have so much to learn from one another and our work can be challenging... no reason to feel you are on an island all along." - Leslie, Kidwell, CFRE, VP of Strategic Engagement at Indiana Youth Institute (Sarah's mentor)

"I am so appreciative of this opportunity to partner with Leslie and learn from her.  She's been a fantastic mentor and sounding board.  I only hope that everyone in the program was as fortunate as I was." - Sarah Wood, Indianapolis Zoo (Leslie's mentee)
