Manager, Development

Position Description: 
The Manager, School Development provides daily oversight and management to a team of Advancement fundraising professionals on the Development team including major giving, campaign, legacy giving, leadership giving, and corporate sponsorship. The role will report to, and work closely with the Director, Development in drafting and executing an integrated operational fundraising plan for Development. The Manager, School Development will be responsible for drafting school-specific fundraising strategies for each of Sask Polytechnic’s schools as they have diverse fundraising opportunities from a diverse range of prospects and donors.

The role will manage the Development team in contributing to significant growth in our major gifts and sponsorship portfolios to foster and build strong relationships with individuals, corporations, foundations, and volunteers. The role will manage and coach the team to translate funding opportunities into comprehensive engagement and move management plans. They will work with the team to prepare and deliver professional cases for support, proposals, presentations, and other materials aligned closely with donor interests and school priorities. The role will be key in developing fundraising strategies and priorities for each school and properly positioning them within the team’s portfolios.

Through this leadership, the Manager, School Development is responsible for managing by assessing, responding, and addressing fundraising situations within the schools that have high degrees of risk impact on the Sask Polytech community. The Manager will partner with school leadership to develop and implement projects and resources to create fundraising priorities and initiatives. This position will be privy to confidential and sensitive institutional and external information in developing fundraising strategies. They must ensure the appropriate management of this information and risk as the workflow is assigned to the Development team. Throughout this work, the Manager will be responsible for making procedural recommendations, and ensuring stakeholders are knowledgeable and informed on matters that impact Sask Polytech’s reputation.

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree or other advanced education strongly preferred. A recognized professional
accreditation such as CFRE would be considered an asset. The successful incumbent will bring a minimum of five years of directly related progressive fundraising experience and management focusing all areas of Development as well as leading change in a complex, rapidly changing environment, and experience in promoting teamwork, collaboration and partnership in an inclusive manner. All candidates must display a proven track record of success in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects.

Salary range: $3463.58 - $4557.70 biweekly

Corporate Sponsorship Officer

Position Description:

The Corporate Sponsorship Officer will be responsible for developing a sponsorship program and plan to maximize the revenue potential from sponsorships for Sask Polytech across all areas for events and special initiatives. It will support the evolving and growing corporate sponsorship needs of Sask Polytech, aligning with corporations’ objectives for benefits gained from their investment.

They will be expected to develop sponsorship offerings for all events and special initiatives that require sponsorship across the institution. The role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of sponsorship prospects. They will move the sponsor through the cycle of identifying and soliciting sponsorships. They must meet targets for revenue expectations and ensure benefits for sponsorships are executed and fulfilled.


The successful incumbent will bring a minimum of three years of directly related progressive sponsorship experience along with a post-secondary diploma. All candidates must display a proven track record of success in developing a sponsorship program and delivering targets.

  • Proven broad knowledge of establishing a sponsorship program and the planning entailed
  • Proven relationship builder with experience in developing and building successful relationships with corporate and internal partners
  • Experience in managing a portfolio of sponsors, donors or clients
  • High level of initiative, independence, and creative ability to achieve financial and non-financial objectives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good technical skills and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or comparable fundraising system
  • Flexible working hours, including some evenings and weekends, for special events is required

$2,265.46 - $2,706.04 bi-weekly
