Inclusion & Diversity

AFP of the Bluegrass is committed to the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) in the fundraising profession, the philanthropic sector and throughout all of society.

ABOUT US: IDEA Committee

The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Committee of AFP of the Bluegrass is committed to fostering a culture of belonging within the fundraising profession and across our nonprofit community. Our mission is to actively promote inclusive practices, equitable opportunities, and accessible pathways for individuals of all backgrounds to thrive in philanthropy.

Through intentional programming, community engagement, and organizational reflection, the IDEA Committee supports our chapter’s efforts to dismantle systemic barriers and elevate underrepresented voices. We believe that diversity strengthens our sector, equity advances our impact, inclusion builds trust, and access ensures everyone has a seat at the table.

Whether you are a long-time member or new to AFP, we welcome you to join us in creating a more representative future for fundraising in the Bluegrass region and beyond.

"IDEA is comprised of individuals who are passionate about building a community of trust,
inclusion, respect, and equity. Through numerous programs, initiatives, and networks, IDEA
focuses on providing support, resources, and assistance to its chapters and members by creating
sustainable, value added, and equitable outcomes across all business areas".
