Thanks to the North Carolina Community Foundation sponsorship Individual Honorees will have the pleasure of
designating a $500 gift to the Nonprofit of their choice.

Our Chapter's National Philanthropy Day Breakfast is our primary fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event enable us to send over 20 chapter members to the statewide conference at half the cost of the registration. We can also bring in a nationally recognized speakers, to provide quality education to our members at a very reasonable cost. And finally, we send one well deserving member to the International Conference, registration is covered by AFP International with the Chamberlain Scholarship, sponsors and event proceeds, defray their costs for lodging and airfare. Many of our local members work for very small, nonprofits making the cost for this type of quality conference out of their reach.   We believe that this education helps all of us be better fundraisers, which in turn allows us to make greater impact in our community.

For any questions, please email Lauren Daley, AFP Cape Fear Region NPD Nominations Committee.

*Must be an AFP Member to be nominated.

What is National Philanthropy Day:

Philanthropy is “the love of humankind,” and National Philanthropy Day® (NPD)—November 15—is the day that thousands of people around the world come together to both (1) put that word into action and (2) recognize the change that word has brought to our communities.

NPD is a celebration of philanthropy—giving, volunteering and charitable engagement—that highlights the accomplishments, large and small, that philanthropy—and all those involved in the philanthropic process—makes to our society and our world.

National Philanthropy Day® is both an official day and a grassroots movement. Every year, since 1986 when President Ronald Reagan first proclaimed November 15th as National Philanthropy Day®, communities across the globe have celebrated by hosting events to recognize activities of donors, volunteers, foundations, leaders, corporations, and others engaged in philanthropy.
