Who will you nominate in 2020?  We know you know someone good - the good do!

National Philanthropy Day (NPD) celebrates the charitable work that EVERYONE does to make a difference and create impact in our community. Together, we celebrate the extraordinary change that fundraising and philanthropy have helped to create in our world!

At this event we showcase outstanding donors, volunteers, corporations, foundations and others who are being recognized for their commitment to change and philanthropy. This event is our Chapter's primary fundraiser of the year. We believe that this education, sharing of best practices, and networking, helps all of us be better fundraisers, which in turn allows us to make greater impact in our community.

Your attendance and sponsorships of this event enable over 20 chapter members to attend the statewide Association of Fundraising Professionals conference at half the cost of the registration. Proceeds also bring in a nationally recognized speaker to provide quality education to community Nonprofit staff at a very reasonable cost.

And finally, one well deserving Fundraising Professional AFP member goes to the AFP International Conference ICON - with registration covered by AFP International's Chamberlain Scholarship, event proceeds defray the costs for lodging and airfare. Many of our local members work for very small, nonprofits making the cost for this type of quality conference out of their reach.

For any questions, please email Breana Hebert, AFP Cape Fear Region NPD Chair.

What is National Philanthropy Day:

Philanthropy is “the love of humankind,” and National Philanthropy Day® (NPD)—November 15—is the day that thousands of people around the world come together to both (1) put that word into action and (2) recognize the change that word has brought to our communities.

NPD is a celebration of philanthropy—giving, volunteering and charitable engagement—that highlights the accomplishments, large and small, that philanthropy—and all those involved in the philanthropic process—makes to our society and our world.

National Philanthropy Day® is both an official day and a grassroots movement. Every year, since 1986 when President Ronald Reagan first proclaimed November 15th as National Philanthropy Day®, communities across the globe have celebrated by hosting events to recognize activities of donors, volunteers, foundations, leaders, corporations, and others engaged in philanthropy.
