Mentorship Program

In addition to the networking benefits of AFP membership, AFP Calgary offers its members the opportunity to participate in a curated mentorship program.

When you'd like to discuss such things as career direction, challenges and development opportunities, mentorship might be a great next step for you.  As an AFP member you can apply to be paired with a fundraising mentor with whom you can discuss some of your current needs and challenges within the profession.

For experienced fundraisers, acting as a mentor is a wonderful way to give back to the AFP community, to help develop and keep new professionals in our field, as well as to further develop your leadership skills.

AFP Calgary takes applications throughout the year and once you've applied the Mentorship Chair will touch base about next steps in the process.

If you are interested in being either a mentee or a mentor, please review the Mentorship Handbook and apply using one of the application forms linked below.

AFP Online Mentoring Program

Welcome to the new AFP Online Mentoring Program. This program has been designed for members who are seeking short-term advice on a fundraising topic, such as how to start a simple bequest program, or what would be the best career move after being an annual fund director. This program will help you find an experienced member of AFP with the expertise you need.

The program is not intended to provide free consulting services, but rather a way to have questions answered by a member who knows about the topic and is willing to help provide you with suggestions.
