Our Facilitators:

Meg George, Co-Founder & President

George Philanthropy Group

"Major Gifts Best Practices: Preparing for and Soliciting Gifts"

Meg George will lead sessions around the implementation of major + principal gift best practices and how our country's philanthropy trends advance an organization's reliance on and need for these skills. Where does the majority of nonprofit funding come from, and how does this impact how we spend our time? As campaign and development counsel to nonprofits across different sectors and of varying sizes, Meg will offer best-in-class recommendations around the stages of a major gift solicitation, including real-life donor profiles + example asks, and frequently-faced challenges in securing visits and executing on asks. We’ll cover ins + outs of big asks during and outside of the time of campaigns, and how to keep genuine relationship building at the root of all frontline solicitation work. Let’s explore how sophisticated philanthropists think and consider their philanthropy decisions so we’re empowered to make impactful, thoughtful solicitations!

This educational track is best for: Mid-career or experienced Major Gifts Officers, leadership and Principal Gift Officers, Directors of Development, Vice Presidents, and Executive Directors.

"Broken Journeys: How to Practically (and Cheaply) Fix Your Donor Journey"

It costs far more to acquire a new donor than to retain and upgrade an existing or lapsed donor, especially when there are clear entry points into leadership and legacy giving. But how do you do that? How do you map and fix journeys quickly, easily, and cheaply to re-engage and re-inspire your lapsed or existing donors?

But how do you do that? What is a “broken donor journey?” How do you understand your lapsed donors so you can tailor a multi-channel experience to re-inspire and re-engage them?

In this practical session, Ann Rosenfield and Sarah Ali will walk you through the process of building a tailored, personalized, and easy re-engagement journey for individual giving programs.

This educational track is best for: Fundraising professionals of all levels, Annual Giving Officers, Development Directors, leadership and Planned Giving Officers.
