Chapter Scholarships

It is the goal of the AFP Montana Chapter to support the professional development of its members.  One way the AFP Montana Chapter achieves this goal is by providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships.  The chapter has been given membership scholarships for those who could not otherwise join AFP. 

Membership Categories Covered
Each scholarship award covers one full year of membership at both the global and chapter levels. Scholarships may be awarded to individuals in the following member categories:

• Professional
• Associate
• Young Professional

Applications are accepted January 1st - June 20, 2026. Scholarships will be awarded until all scholarship funds have been used.

Chamberlain Scholarships

The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy annually awards one Chamberlain Scholarship to each AFP chapter for an individual to attend the prestigious AFP International Conference. The scholarship is named for Ralph Chamberlain, who was instrumental in starting the Association of Fundraising Professionals organization.

The Chamberlain Scholarship is designed to help individuals serving nonprofit organizations develop their knowledge and skills in fundraising. The scholarship supports first-time attendance to the AFP International Conference - a place to gain insight from industry and world leaders, and a chance to learn breakthrough fundraising tactics.

Applications accepted July 1 through September 30. 

Please note, this is not a full scholarship and the winner will be required to cover any and all expenses exceeding the amounts awarded, however, the Chapter provides a $500 stipend to help offset travel and lodging expenses. Chamberlain Scholars are responsible for registering themselves for the conference and for making all travel and lodging arrangements.
