John C. Carter has been involved in helping a variety of nonprofit organizations over the past 25 years. John is a servant leader and volunteer and has helped Forgotten Harvest become a leader in the human services sector helping to care for and feed our most vulnerable neighbors and children in need of nutritious food. John recently served as co-chair of the successful $17 million “Solutions That Nourish” campaign that recently meet its goal to help construct a new food distribution and volunteer center and campus for Forgotten Harvest. John was very active in helping to cultivate and solicit major gifts, which were critical to the campaign's success. He was a great cheerleader and kept the committee actively engaged in reaching the goal, even through the pandemic.

Additionally, John served as Board Chair during the pandemic and helped Forgotten Harvest to increase capacity and remain extremely active as the organization served as a critical front line emergency responder. He also kept our Board engaged and supporting the activities of the organization.

As the JPMorgan Chase Michigan President prior to his recent retirement, John served on a dozen community and non-profit boards, including terms as Board Chair for the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit and Judson Center. He is very engaged in providing financial support, board leadership and recruiting others to get involved and help our community.
