We have over 400 active AFP members, who serve as development directors, fundraising consultants, grant writers, volunteer fundraisers, foundation executives, and other individuals dedicated to fundraising and philanthropy.

The AFP Greater Los Angeles Chapter has regularly scheduled lunch meetings featuring local speakers and topics relevant to our everyday work. The chapter also offers educational and networking opportunities such as the local area Round Tables, Advanced Executive Forums, Young Professional Education Series, & National Philanthropy Day® Conference and Awards Lunchdon.     This session will provide you with an overview of the CFRE credential – what it is, how to get started, eligibility requirements, filling out the application, an overview of the exam, and more.

  • Annual Holiday Inspirational Event - December 10

    Our featured speaker is Birgit Smith-Burton, president-elect of Global’s board of directors and chair, Global IDEA Committee. Randi Sunshine, member of AFP-GLAC and Global IDEA Committee will moderate Birgit’s presentation entitled: DIVERSITY – FROM A PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL PERSPECTIVE. Learn about the many ways we can include diversity, equity and access in all aspects of our lives. Also, be apprised of Global’s IDEA initiative.   Following this motivational talk we will introduce the 2021 board, recognize Be The Cause & Chapter Fund donors, and provide  holiday treats to some lucky members.
