Director of Fund Development

The Director of Fund Development is responsible for the successful leadership and operational management of the fundraising function of Shoreline Medical Society. This half-time position will lead the development and implementation of all activities associated with a fundraising strategy, implement sound practices to ultimately inspire, support and help Shoreline Medical achieve its vision. The Director will use strong communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. The Director will work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Board members to develop campaign goals and guidelines, with an initial financial goal of raising $300,000 to $500,000 per year. This amount includes the funding required to support this position. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the Saanich Peninsula region, be community-oriented, creative, motivated, professional, and organized and have a knack for research.

Development Officer - Leave Replacement 13 month contract

Pacific Opera Victoria is looking for a self-directed individual to be part of a small, high-performance, collaborative team reporting to the Director of Development. This position is a 13 month leave position and is responsible for administrative and organizational support for the implementation of all fundraising strategies; database management, annual direct mail and telemarketing campaigns, assist with fundraising and donor event logistics, donor benefits fulfillment, and managing project and reporting timelines.  The Development Officer develops and maintains professional relationships with donors, sponsors, grantors, suppliers and volunteers. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong relationship building, organizational and technology skills. Competency with donor management software – in particular Tessitura – is a definite asset.

Fundraising Operations Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fundraising Operations Officer to join our team! This
full-time permanent role is accountable for the data, technology, and operational procedures
that supports much of our fundraising activities including direct response programs and events.
Reporting to the Director of Development, our ideal candidate embraces technology, has an
aptitude for data analysis, has experience working in the not-for-profit sector, has excellent
organizational skills and is able to work independently and as part of a team. Central to this role
is the coordination, analysis, and use of fundraising data to support strategies of the Victoria
Hospitals Foundation. Task management will be key as this position, within the fundraising
operations portfolio, will work cross-departmentally with all teams in the organization.

Development Officer, Annual Giving

At Victoria Hospice, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those facing life-limiting illness, death
and bereavement through patient and family centered care, education, research and advocacy.
 

Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, the Development Officer, Annual Giving takes the lead
in developing and successfully executing strategies to support one time and recurring revenues from
individual donors as well as granting partners. This position is a key role within the Fund Development
team, supporting the creation of strong relationships, developing a pipeline of donors, and building
philanthropic commitment for our programs and services.
 

The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for coordinating and producing content, in a variety of styles for
a range of audiences, including donor appeals, grant applications, impact reports, and other documents
to promote the annual giving fundraising goals of Victoria Hospice.

Manager of Philanthropy

As a key member of the Development team, and reporting to the Senior Manager of Philanthropy, this position
plays an integral role in achieving Take a Hike’s fundraising goals. The position will focus on the Vancouver
Island region and be involved in a variety of activities to engage mid to major level donors and grow fundraising revenue, including current and prospective donor research and grant management.

Through personalized communication and relationship building, the Manager of Philanthropy will be
responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship of current and prospective individual,
foundation, and corporate donors in the Vancouver Island Region.

The ideal candidate is an experienced relationship builder who is resourceful and entrepreneurial and thrives in
a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Three key priorities will be to grow the Vancouver Island mid to
major donor pipeline, increase renewals and leverage increased giving, and identify and develop relationships
with Vancouver-Island based major donors.

This a 100% remote/work from home role for candidates living in the Greater Victoria area. The successful candidate will be expected to travel once a quarter to Take a Hike’s basecamp office in Vancouver.
