Unlocking Fundraisers' Power to Advance an Equitable Society
The San Luis Obispo County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) invites you to attend National Philanthropy Day 2020.
This year’s event will be virtual and LIVE on Zoom, Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and will feature a video created to celebrate the collective work non-profits do for and within the San Luis Obispo County Community
It will also feature a keynote by Vu Le (“voo lay”) who will speak to us as fundraisers about our critical role in sustaining so many vital organizations and services during the pandemic. As society grapples with COVID and confronts systemic racism, our field is more needed than ever. To unlock our full power, we must examine many of our philosophies and practices, challenge ones that don't work, adopt some new thinking and actions, and fully embrace our role as agents of change. Join Vu Le, writer behind NonprofitAF.com, for an honest, thought-provoking, fun, and maybe slightly uncomfortable conversation. (But we did mention "fun," right?).
Vu is a writer, speaker, vegan, Pisces, and has a passion to make the world better. In his experience in nonprofit work, he learned that we should take the work seriously, but not ourselves. There’s tons of humor in the nonprofit world, and someone needs to document it. Known for his no-nonsense approach, irreverent sense of humor, and love of unicorns, Vu has been featured in dozens, if not hundreds, of his own blog posts at NonprofitAF.com.
