General Summary: 
The Chief Development Officer is responsible for planning, implementation, management, and oversight of all fundraising and donor relations activities; management of day-to-day fundraising unit operations, including prospect identification and research; cultivating and communications strategies, proposal development, solicitation strategies, donor stewardship, and constituency/database management. This position also maintains clear and regular communications with the CEO, Fund Development Committee, and donor prospects.

The Chief Development Officer also participates as a member of the Leadership Team in the process of setting the organization’s strategic direction and short- and long-term plans, and in translating the GSLE mission and vision into effective operational strategies and actions.
