Development Assistant (part time)

Position Title: Development Assistant (Part-time-30 hours/week, Permanent)
Department: Resource Development
Reports to: Director, Resource Development
Salary Range: $38,000 - $42,000 per annum

General Summary:

The Development Assistant will provide project management and technical support to the Resource Development team. The Development Assistant will contribute to achievement of annual fundraising goals; improved data mining operations and extracting reports to help improve donor relations and engage others in our work; to enhance efforts to diversify revenue and improve cultivation and stewardship of donors; as well as assist with Lottery License management and support the planning and organizing of events.

As well, the Development Assistant will work closely with the Marketing & Engagement team to effectively manage donor relationships. This may include preparing donor welcome packages, engaging Leadership donors, supporting Women United and support efforts for strengthen year round relationship building and coordinating employee engagement opportunities to give back to our community.

Essential Functions:
- Maintain accurate records pertinent to the Department. This includes prospect lists, sponsorship and gift data.
- Compile data and summary reports for Department needs, including compiling Corporate Partner and Leadership Donor profile sheets; supporting Donor Relations Specialists by managing and coordinating outreach activities with donors.
- Develop and maintain organized files of correspondence, reports, account files and other activities for Resource Development projects.
- Prepare materials for donor communication, including list management, merging letters, etc.
- Providing administrative support for committee meetings such as Women United, assuming responsibility for attendance, room booking, refreshments, meeting materials, etc.
- Support to establish and implement work-flow priorities, processes and procedures to increase efficiency in meeting Departmental objectives and work quality.

Required Competencies:
- Post-secondary degree or certificate preferred. High school diploma with prior demonstrated administrative success, and/or an alternate combination of related education and experience will also be considered.
- Fundraising, project management and/or database maintenance experience an asset.
- Advanced computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience working with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform or other database, extrapolating data, and running reports.
- Demonstrated experience in project or process management, quality assurance desired.
- Demonstrated ability in researching and recommendations for implementation of new and existing processes and/or technology to improve workflow efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and adapt quickly to new methods, tools and procedures.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, time management and interpersonal skills required.
- High-energy, outcome-focused individual with a positive attitude who can manage change.
- Comfortable in presenting information to various groups in-person or virtually

Supervisory Responsibility:
Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. The Resource Development Assistant may be responsible for supervising and supporting volunteers as needed.

Hours of Work:
This is a part-time, permanent position (30 hours/week with the opportunity for full-time). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position may require longer hours and/or weekend work during peak
times.

Travel:
Out-of-town travel is not typically required for this role however may be necessary at times. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
