Job Description:
The Senior Alumni and Donor Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to engage alumni and donors, furthering the objectives of Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s Advancement division. This role involves creating and managing alumni and donor programs, building online communities, coordinating events, and leading volunteer initiatives. The specialist will implement targeted communication plans to highlight alumni stories, enhance connections, and elevate the institution’s reputation. Working collaboratively within a centralized structure, the role will utilize research and analytics to develop initiatives that foster strong relationships with alumni and donors across various engagement stages. In addition, the specialist will manage data collection and analysis to gain insights into audience needs and continuously refine engagement strategies based on feedback. The position also includes supervising additional engagement staff, ensuring the coordination and effective implementation of programming. The role requires strategic thinking and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to meet engagement goals.

Qualifications:
Post secondary education:
Diploma in Business Administration or a related filed (Marketing or Communications),
A minimum six years’ experience in stakeholder/alumni relations, fundraising, communications, or marketing.
The following would be seen as beneficial for this position:
Accreditation or certification with International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)
Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS)
Membership in AFP, IABC, CPRS, or the Saskatchewan Marketing Association is also an asset
Knowledge:
Best practices in alumni and donor engagement.
Market research, analysis, and segmentation.
Supervision practices (HR People management).
Project Management.
Skills:
Manage direct reports and leading teams,
Project management and collaborative management,
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills,
Foster, maintain and build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. (Interpersonal and team relations),
Online platforms to engage key stakeholders and build community,
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting project deadlines,
Strong project management skills, including event planning and implementation,
Volunteer recruitment, management, and training,
Proficiency in AI, customer relationship management (CRM), systems (experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset),
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills ,
Valuies diversity in all settings, and
Other duties as assigned.
