Join us on Thursday, August 16 for a great luncheon and education session, "Understanding Tax Reform: Perspective & Impact" presented by Naomi Lett.

The federal government recently undertook historical measure to reform the tax system for individuals, business, and charity.   There are many benefits and impacts that are yet to be fully realized.

Join Naomi Lett, Senior Director of Public Policy and Briana Bateman with Senator Tim Scott’s office to discuss tax reform.  This session will help you better understand the broad stroke of tax reform – it’s impact on individuals, families, business and charitable organization as well as the more specific question around the charitable deduction.  Learn more details about how it applies and the potential impact on charitable giving  

The session will include a presentation portion as well as an audience Q&A portion

Naomi Lett graduated from James Madison University and has worked in the non-profit field for more than 15 years.  She joined the Peace Corps after graduating, serving in Niger, West Africa.  After her service she shifted to direct services with transitional housing and foster youth

Naomi’s time in direct services inspired her to work on policy issues affecting those whose voice often go unheard.  As a result, she has worked in policy and advocacy for 8 years in the South Carolina General Assembly.  Naomi previously served as Executive Director of Children Come First, a non-profit focused on advocacy for abused and neglected children in foster care.  Naomi  is currently the Senior Director of Public Policy with the United Way Association of South Carolina. 

She serves on many boards has received many awards and recognition throughout her career. She is the recipient of the Congressional Angels in adoption award and a Riley Institute Diversity Fellow, She is on the board of the Friends of Juvenile Justice and Katrina’s Kids. She also and serves as an Innovation Advisor for the USC College of Social work Innovation Incubator and presents to the graduate schools on the role of policy in social services.


This luncheon has been approved for one (1) continuing education hour for the CFRE.
