As we prepare for our 28th National Philanthropy Day celebration, we are asking for your assistance identifying the individuals, organizations and businesses in our area who go above and beyond for not only their organization but for the community at large.  We are currently accepting nominations for these prestigious awards in a variety of categories. If you know of an individual or group that meets our NPD criteria, please complete and return the nomination form.

It is important to verify that your nominee is willing to attend the luncheon and accept their award.

Award Categories


Outstanding Philanthropist Award

(individual or family)

  • demonstrates exceptional generosity and civic responsibility in providing financial support and
    leadership for a charitable cause or causes;
  • by example, encourages and motivates others to support a philanthropic cause;
  • contributes significantly to other community efforts;
  • advances philanthropy in general.

 

Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist Award

(for-profit corporation or corporate foundation with more than 100 employees)

  • has an exemplary record of civic responsibility in support of a charitable cause or causes;
  • demonstrates, to the extent necessary, a substantial impact upon philanthropic programs;
    distinguishes itself by the encouragement of creative and innovative programs.

 

Outstanding Small Business Philanthropist Award

(100 employees or less)

  • Same criteria as Corporate Philanthropist (see above).

 

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award

(individual)

  • demonstrates exceptional leadership skills in recruiting, coordinating and motivating
    volunteers for fundraising project or projects;
  • contributes personal time and effort to a charitable cause or causes;
  • influences a fundraising program's financial success;
  • advances philanthropy in general.

 

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Group Award

(volunteer groups)

  • as a group, demonstrates exceptional leadership skills in recruiting, coordinating and
    motivating volunteers for a philanthropic, non-profit organization.

Outstanding Young Philanthropist Award

(individual or group, age 18 or under)

  • demonstrates exceptional generosity in support of a charitable cause or causes;
  • demonstrates exceptional initiative and leadership in recruiting, coordinating and
    motivating volunteers to raise funds for a charitable cause or causes;
  • by example, encourages other youth to make charitable gifts and volunteer their
    personal time to philanthropic causes.

 

Legacy Award

 Presented by the Planned Giving Committee (individual or family)

  • demonstrates exceptional generosity by providing financial support to a charitable
    cause or causes through an irrevocable gift from an estate or through a planned gift;
  • by example, encourages and motivates others to support a philanthropic cause
    through one's estate plan;
  • award will be given posthumously
