About Danielle Boucher

Danielle has worked as a development professional in Quebec and Atlantic Canada for the past decade. She is a pro-active, enthusiastic and conscientious development professional, skilled at building relationships and translating organization’s aspirations into action. As a fundraiser, Danielle’s experience broadly ranges from organizational “fitness” assessments and strategic planning, new program development and implementation, existing program growth and optimization, organizational profile building and MarCom support, board training and development to internal capacity building for leadership and fundraising staff. Prior to becoming a full-time fundraiser, Danielle worked across the cultural sector in various development capacities perfecting her skills at strategic planning, museum project management, volunteer management, educational program development and customer/visitor experience design. Since launching Global Philanthropic Atlantic, Danielle has worked with a wide range of Atlantic Canadian organizations including the Chalmers Hospital Foundation in Fredericton NB, The Huntsman Marine Science Institute in St. Andrews NB, NSCAD University in Halifax NS, the PEI Hospice Association, YMCA Halifax, The Greater Moncton SPCA, The Nova Scotia SPCA and the Joggings Fossil Institute in Nova Scotia. Prior to opening the Global office McGill University Health Centre, The Canadian Cancer Society, The MAB McKay Association and the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation.

About Chris Steeves

Chris has over twelve years of professional fundraising and development experience working with both small and large fundraising teams. He understands the new challenges facing the charitable sector and is passionate about helping forward-thinking teams embrace new forms of relationship-building using data-driven insights and technologies. He has led successful fundraising efforts as the Director of Advancement for the Halifax Grammar School and Dalhousie University. Recently, Chris served for five years as Vice President Development for Fundmetric, a technology firm focused on turning one-time donors into lifetime supporters using artificial intelligence. He is passionate about making it easier for the charitable sector to embrace and adopt data science technology. Chris is active in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is the Past President of the AFP Nova Scotia Chapter. He was the recipient of the 2015 Outstanding Professional Fundraiser Award.

AboutDaphne Carter You may know Daphne as the current President of AFP Nova Scotia. She's been a professional fundraiser for over 13 years and is currently with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in the role of Development Manager. Her job involves working with mid-level donors and organizing internal special events. She feels that as fundraisers we amalgamate hard skills like marketing, sales, and communications with a plentiful sprinkling of soft skills like listening, customer service, creativity, and a sense of humour. Daphne has a degree in Office Administration from Mount Saint Vincent University. She lives in Hammonds Plains with her husband and two boys.
