About Our Chapter

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the largest international association of fundraising professionals in the world, with more than 30,000 members in over 230 Chapters in Canada, the United States, Mexico and, China. Since 1960, AFP has inspired global change and supported efforts that generated over $1 trillion. AFP’s members collectively raise over $100 billion annually, equivalent to one-third of all charitable giving in North America and millions more around the world. There are 3,500 members in 20 Chapters in Canada providing essential leadership to the country’s robust charitable sector. 

Formed in April 2015, the AFP New Brunswick Chapter advances philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice effective and ethical fundraising throughout the province. Our members are committed to upholding AFP’s Code of Ethical Standards, the Donors' Bill of RightsCulture of Philanthropy and Donor-Centered Fundraising when serving their organizations, and the donors and funders who support them.

AFP’s mandate is to foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals by promoting philanthropy and high ethical standards in fundraising and non-profit management through advocacy, research, education, professional development and certification programs.

L’association des Professionnels en Philanthropie (AFP) est la plus grande association de professionnels en philanthropie au monde avec 30 000 membres répartis dans 230 chapitres au Canada, aux États-Unis, au Mexique et en Chine.

Depuis 1960, l' AFP a inspiré le changement global et soutenu des efforts ayant générés plus d’un billion de dollars. Les 30 000 membres individuels et organisationnels de l'AFP amassent plus de 100 milliards de dollars par année ; ce qui représente un tiers de tous les dons de bienfaisance en Amérique du Nord et des millions d'autres à travers le monde. Les 3 500 membres répartis dans 20 chapitres de L’AFP au Canada fournissent mentorat et leadership au robuste secteur de la bienfaisance au Canada.

Constitué en avril 2015, le chapitre AFP du Nouveau Brunswick a comme ambition de développer la philanthropie au Nouveau-Brunswick en guidant individus et organismes vers des pratiques de collectes de fonds éthiques et efficaces. La charte des droits des donateurs, le code de déontologie et des normes de l’AFP ainsi qu’une culture de philanthropie centrée sur le donateur servent de cadre aux actions des membres de l’AFP.

Le mandat de l’AFP est de promouvoir le développement et le perfectionnement des professionnels en collecte de fonds en faisant la promotion de la philanthropie et de hauts standards déontologiques en collectes de fonds et en gestion des organismes à but non lucratif au moyen de programmes de sensibilisation, de recherche, d’éducation et de certification.
