Donors often self-identify as planned giving prospects by giving gift officers cues and clues when discussing everything from their income needs to their desire to help family members and nonprofit institutions.  April’s presentation will highlight donor cues and clues that could help you secure planned gifts for your institution.  In addition, the presenter will discuss best practice language to use when discussing planned giving vehicles with donors.

Our Speaker: Dave Smith, President & CEO, Heaton Smith Group

Dave founded Heaton Smith Group, LLC in February 2009. He brings more than twenty years of experience in the nonprofit sector to our organization and has worked with nonprofit institutions and their donors in the Southeast, Mid Atlantic, Northeast, Midwest and Pacific regions.  Dave has served clients from a wide range of missions, including healthcare, academic medicine, higher education, arts and culture, religion, and the independent school sectors.  Dave has facilitated more than three hundred and fifty million dollars for the nonprofit sector.  His work includes individuals and couples with modest estates as well as high-net-worth individuals, couples and families with private foundations and family offices.
