Jason Simons, Chief Development Officer, Indianapolis Classical Schools
Jason has a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University in Bloomington. In his undergraduate career at Wabash College, Jason made Magna Cum Laude, the Dean's List and won the John N. Mills Prize for Outstanding Student in Religion.
He began his career as a Mathematics Teacher and Team Leader at Teach for America. He also served as a Policy Researcher, Sagamore Institute, Global Public Policy Contractor, Eli Lilly and Company and the Director for School Partnerships & Alumni Affairs, Teach for America. He currently serves as Chief Development Officer at Indianapolis Classical Schools, a partnership of two schools - Herron High and the new Riverside High.
Jason has just completed a $3.9 million capital campaign to open Riverside, which was $1 million over the campaign's goal.
Nick Duvall, Chief Advancement Officer & Sr. Vice President, Little Red Door Cancer Agency
Nick received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ball State University. He is in the process of receiving his Certificate in Executive Leadership from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
During his career, Nick has worked in both the private and public sectors. He started his career at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. before moving back home to work at the Indiana House of Representatives. He continued his career path at the Boy Scouts of America. Nick currently is the Chief Advancement Officer for the Little Red Door Cancer Agency. Little Red Door provides services to underserved Hoosiers battling cancer.
Nick is also an active community member serving on a number of boards and volunteer groups. He belongs to the Association of Fundraising Professionals, is a Rotary member and was named one of Indy's Best and Brightest by Junior Achievement in 2017. He also serves on the board of directors of the Youth Mentoring Initiative, Indiana Diaper Bank, and Fishers Youth Assistance Program. he is also the founder and director of the Terry Duvall Memorial Scholarship that gives away a cash scholarship to one student in need at his alma mater.
Jill Vaught, CFRE, Director of Advancement, The Arc of Indiana
Jill graduated from Ball State University with a degree in journalism. She worked as a producer for a television station, copy writer & graphic designer for an advertising agency, photographer, event planner and radio host before discovering fundraising.
She worked in development for The Salvation Army and Wabash Center, a disability provider. Currently she is Director of Advancement for The Arc of Indiana, Indiana's leading advocacy organization for people with disabilities. She is in the middle of $32 million capital campaign, raising $14.5 million in the first two years.
Cassandra Sanborn, Director of Engagement, Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic
Cassandra is the Director of Engagement at Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in Indianapolis, a job she's held since 2015. She is currently in the Masters of Public Affairs program at IUPUI. Cassandra also has a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from IUPUI.
At NCLC, Cassandra leads the individual donor program in addition to raising funds from corporations and foundations. She also created the Clinic's annual development plan, developed their brand across all marketing channels and has overseen the expansion of special event fundraisers.
Steve Helmich, President, IHSAA Foundation
Steve was President of Cathedral High School from 1999-2016 and has extensive experience working with individual donors. He led four successful capital campaigns and achieved financial stability for the school through major increases to its endowment (+540%) and strategic reserve fund (+200%). Annual tuition assistance also grew under Steve's leadership by more than 400%. Cathedral High won many accolades and honors during Steve's tenure. It was named a 4-Star School and a Blue Ribbon of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Cathedral High became one of three Schools of Innovation in the country and was in the top 25 academic Catholic High Schools in the United States. Currently, Steve is on the Board of Directors of Damar Charter Academy.
