Have you ever seen a job description and thought, "I would be great at that, but don't have the mix of skills required."  How about, "How am I supposed to start in a field if the entry level position requires two years of direct development experience?" This session is for you.  Come explore how you can leverage your current work to gain new fundraising opportunities, as well as how you could use volunteer opportunities to add to your resume and how to best apply the skills you have to the needs of the prospective position.

Caitie Deranek Stewart is an Associate Director of Development at the Indiana University School of Medicine, the largest medical school in the country.  Caitie's main focus is to build a leadership annual giving pipeline for the school, striving daily to increase the number of donors in this with an eye towards identifying major and planned gift prospects.  In 2016, Caitie gained her CFRE credential and completed her dual Master's program with an MA in Philanthropic Studies from the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and an MPA in Nonprofit Management from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs - IUPUI.  When Caitie is not fundraising, she is a professional vocalist in Indianapolis and surrounding areas.
