The McCarthy Center for Nonprofits' approach to board development is based on best practices that are common to the most dynamic and effective nonprofit boards. This training is designed for board members who are new to nonprofit board service or would like to be more effective.
This two-hour session teaches:
- Differences in nonprofit and for-profit entities and board service
- Legal considerations
- Board member "must-do" roles and responsibilities
- How to be an effective trustee
Staff, prospective board members, and existing board members are all welcome. Special appointments can be made for large groups or whole boards.
