  • FREE ONE YEAR Membership Scholarships Available

    AFP Membership Scholarships are AVAILABLE - DEADLINE 5PM AUGUST 12th

    The Cape Fear Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is excited to announce a new membership scholarship program sponsored by AFP Global. In response to the current conditions, AFP understands the economic challenges that current and prospective members face.  

    The scholarship will provide one year of free AFP membership to five individuals in our community. 

    All currently working non-profit fundraising professionals are welcome to apply.

    Interested applicants should email Mary Bradley. Please include name, email, and your non-profit organization.

    Applications accepted until 5pm on August 12, 2020. Recipients will be selected in a random drawing. Winners will be notified by email and announced by August 14th.

  • NEW! Birnbach Scholarship for CFRE Credentials

    The Cape Fear Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is pleased to announce a new scholarship for members who are interested in pursuing their Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credentials. The Birnbach Scholarship for CFRE Credentials will provided the winning applicant(s) with the funds to cover study materials and the CFRE exam fees for a local member in good standing who has been in the professional fundraising field for at least five years.

  • CFRE POP UP!

    Have you been thinking about working towards becoming a Certified Fundraising Executive? Are their resources you need to accomplish this goal?

    Two members who have attained their CFRE will share their experiences and answer your questions.
    Kristin McPeters from the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC at Wilmington is a newly minted CFRE and Laurie Taylor from The Carousel Center attained hers in 2014 and just renewed for another three years.

  • Book Club - July 30th Wine Sampler

    The next book we will be reading is "To Sell Is Human" by Daniel Pink.  Logan Thompson will facilitate discussion. We will meet on Thursday, July 30th at 5:30pm at the Wine Sampler. Even if you don't read the book, come for the networking and socialization.
  • Virtual Book Club May 21

    The book to read for the May meeting is Dare to Lead by Brené Brown. next meeting will be facilitated by JC Lyle, Executive Director of WARM.

    Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It's about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It's time for all of us to step up.
